Who is Elizabeth?

I was born and brought up in the village of Dinas Powys in the Vale of Glamorgan. An unremarkable childhood was followed by a degree at the University of Wales where I completed a Bachelor of Education, leading to a long and fulfilling career in Primary education. Throughout this time I was committed to sport and fitness. My interest in keep fit may be traced back to a time when I donned the leg warmers to keep my Mum company at a Jane Fonda aerobics class - a look not to be repeated too often!

Following from the birth of my daughter on the Isle of Man, I became interested in the Pilates method of exercise. Having taken time off to retrain in Educational Psychology, I began to develop the concept of using my teaching skills combined with my passion for activity into a new career.

I have achieved my Diploma in Pilates at Level 3, with Future Fit Training and Active IQ. This is the highest award to be gained for Pilates instructors. I have continued my professional development, gaining qualifications in the following;

  • Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Pilates;
  • Active IQ Level 3 Fundamentals, Improver and Advanced Pilates Instructor;
  • Active IQ Level 3 Ante/Post Natal Pilates Instructor;
  • Active IQ Level 3 Pilates for Orthopaedic Conditions Instructor;
  • MBodies Level 3 Pilates for Neurological Conditions Instructor;
  • Pink Ribbon Pilates Instructor;
  • CYQ Level 2 Chair Based Exercise Leader;
  • Active IQ PureStretch Instructor;
  • Zumba and Zumba Gold Instructor;
  • Paracise Instructor;
  • Wobble Instructor;
  • Tai Chi Instructor;
  • REP’s Level 3 Personal Trainer;
  • First Aid qualified;
  • CRB checked.

I opened my Pilates Studio in 2014, having worked across the Isle of Man and in the odd field for the Pilates 2010 event - the largest Pilates class ever held on the Island - at the site where Joseph Pilates was interned.

I believe exercise should be fun and enjoyable, never a chore, and a tool to assist and improve our daily lives!
